Christian Allies Caucus takes up organ donations
Misperceptions about religion and faith are the main cause for the paucity of organ donors in Israel, the Director of the Halachic Organ Donor Society said Wednesday.
"Many families use religion as an excuse not to donate organs," the group's director, Robert Berman, told an unusual meeting of the Knesset's Christian Allies Caucus.
100 Israelis dies each year due to the lack of organ donors, with only 4 percent of the population donating their organs.
